I Did It and I love It! RAW

Just check this out! Today I had some down time and was playing with my camera, getting ready for an online photo course that starts Monday and I took a few pictures in RAW! Not so sure why I have been so scared to do this before (maybe because I am going to need a second hard drive) but it was pretty neat. What makes is so nice is the post processing! Love it!!! Check out what I did!

Yep that is a Noodle!

Choosing Life is decision that causes much debate in our country. Why? I can't really fathom. I am not hear to judge those who choose "choice" but only to stand for those lives that "choice" effects. I ask that you stand with me and be a voice for those who cannot speak. On March 31st those who "Choose Life" will send in red envelopes to our President to represent the voice of these children. Please get the word out so that our President knows that we will not be silent any longer. One envelope is quiet and unheard but together we can be strong and loud for these little lives.

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion.
It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.

We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.

I love faces week 7 Adults, Black and White

This is my adult entry for this weeks Black and White theme for adults. It is my favorite guy, Daddio! I think this pictures shows a lot of his personality smart and witty! Don't for get to click here and go and check out more entry for this week!

Well this week at I love faces the theme is Black and white photos! Don't forget to go and check out the other entries! Just click here to see all the great photos!

This week I am using a photo I took of my little sweet niece Cabell who will turn one in a couple of weeks. She is just all smiles and such a cutie!!

My sister called me today and told me to go to YouTube and check out some videos her son Brandon posted. I thought I would share with all of you the talent my nephew has! Not only is is an academic genius, an awesome athlete, a great personality, stands up for what he believes in but he is even a self taught musician too. Brandon will be 17 next week and a senior next year, it is hard believe how he has grown so fast!... Just a great Kid and I am very proud of the young man he has become! You Go Brandon... Have a Happy Birthday and never take your eyes off of The One who has hand crafted You to be just as your are for His plan!

Oh I forgot to mention that he is an awesome snowboarder too!
So Daddio has been pulling alot of hours lately at work and we have some much needed projects around the house done so what is a girl to do? Yep, Dig In and do it herself! The first job at hand is painting! I actually really love painting, I find it very relaxing. Yesterday I pulled out the blue tape and started taping up the trim. When Daddio came home yesterday and saw where I was going with this he totally against it. He is a bit of a control freak when it comes to projects around the house and normally he does them 130% instead of the normal 100%. (yeah perfectionist) I finally convinced him that I am fully capable of painting a laundry room and small powder room after him bringing up a little booboo I made 7 years ago. Okay this was not a small booboo it was HUGE, I spilt the gallon of paint onto the floor...yikes maybe he has a little reason for not wanted me to do this. Well, this morning I was off to the store with my colors in my head and bought 2 gallons of paint. I was very excited and began cutting in all the trim work. I was moving along and things were going great! I can even remember thinking to myself "see I can do this". Do you see where I am going with this..... Yeah, it happened again!! In very slooooowww motion! Not a pretty picture people! After I spent 30 minutes cleaning up my mess (thank you latex paint) I had to make the call. It went kinda like this:

Hi honey! me

Hi, what is up? daddio

Well I got good news and I have bad news, which do you want first? me

Okay, give the bad and what did you do? daddio

(long silence.....) Okay the bad news is, I kinda made a mess again..... me

What!! Did you spill it everywhere again? daddio

Yes, but the good news is you won't have to ever look at those ugly sweat pants that you hate of mine. me

So are you telling me I have to come home and clean up your mess? daddio

No! I did clean it up, I just will never paint again, I promise! me

Good! Daddio

I think it went much better than I thought it would. I did have to eat a little crow but it was pretty painless. So on a lighter note I leave you with this adorable picture of Arden playing with a few of her Birthday gifts: Dora Bathing suit, Dora Gobbles, Dora beach towel and Dora Doll. Do you see the theme here?

Are you Plugged In?

Well it is no secret that parents cannot keep up with ALL the latest video games, movies, music and tv. I could not tell you if one video game is okay and one is totally off limits. I also do not have the time to read up on every new release but... it is so important to me to KNOW what they are playing, watching and listening to. So what is a parent to do? Yep, I am gonna tell ya!

Go to: Plugged In Online and save it on your favorites!!

It has everything a parent needs to know. It is kinda a cheat sheet for parenting. For example, my Roger wanted a new video game and even saved up his money to get it. He came to me last night and wanted to go an get his new game. I asked him a few question and every response was "sure mom it a good game!" So just before I said okay I grabbed the computer and went to plugged in and wouldn't you know, I got an eyeful!!! This was not an OKAY game! I was far from an okay game! Swh!!! Thank you plugged in!!!

I love faces week 6 Adult, Wonder!

Okay this is my entry for the adult. I took this picture when daddio and I went away for a weekend together. We were sitting having a wonderful breakfast and looking over the sound! It was such a beautiful memory and I think the he looks pretty handsome in this photo too!! Don't forget to go to I love faces and check out more here.

So I missed last week with all the sickness around here but I am up and running for the moment! This week the theme over at I love Faces is Wonder! I knew just what picture I would post for this week. This is totally one of my favorite photos of Arden (okay I have so many) but this picture of her is just adorable and I think it fit perfect for this weeks theme. Don't forget to go by and check all the wonderful pictures at I love faces here!

Saturday after our all morning house cleaning, the boys went to play outside. As I was walking by one of the windows something caught my eye. Aaron had obviously gotten a little creative with some caution tape and pvc pipe. I quickly grabbed my camera and began stealing pictures until he spotted me and then he really started hamming it up! He is such a "show boat"! I guess he'll get me one day for showing these... hee hee
Hasn't spotted me yet!
Okay! Caught Me!

The Hamming Begins!

Okay this one was kinda of scary!!!

You Just gotta love days like these!!

Happy Birthday Our Little Princess!

Today our little princess turns 3! Early this morning her brothers woke her to sounds of Happy Birthday! As she made her way down stairs, she was alittle grumpy! I told her she couldn't be grumpy, today is your birthday. Aaron was at the kitchen table and said " I thought she is now out of the terrible twos?" I then explained " why yes she is but now she is on to the trying threes" Aaron replies "great!"
Well after she got her morning chocolate milk she was her sweet little self again!
Happy Birthday our Little Princess!! Sunday we will be celebrating with friends and family and David will be smoking some butts for the herd!! (aka barbecue)

Oh and Happy Valentines Everyone!

I am Back!

No, I did not take up my sis's habits of blogging, I have a great excuse. Well my last post was about my Ben not feeling to well, it went from bad to worse with him and he ran a fever and just felt awful. He finally went back to school on Tuesday and that night I started feeling pretty crummy myself. So dear old mom, (that's me) got to share in the germs. So after a rough night of chills, fever and aches my dear sweet husband decide to take a vacation day and stay home and take care of me and run the house. I seriously do not know what I would have done without him!!! I am finally feeling better and I have so much to share!

First, Let's all do the Praise Jesus Dance!!! Our friends who I posted a prayer request for heard news on Tuesday and it was a HUGE answer to prayer! God slayed their GIANT!!! (like we knew He would) What an awesome victory this was for this family. Their fight is finally over and they have won!!! Yah Woah Yippee!!! Prayer works People!! Thank you all for praying for my friends.

Roger was picked from his gym class to perform a square dance at a school assembly. Though he was not admitting to it I think he was pretty excited. The letter sent home stated we could go and see them either at practice or at the assembly. I asked Roger which he would like me to see and he replied "defiantly practice! I know you are gonna take pictures and that would just be embarrassing." So Tuesday afternoon Arden and I went to watch him practice and it was pretty cool. Arden really got a kick out of it! It was funny she said "mom that is not a square dance that is a circle dance" is she just to smart for herself or what???? How does a 3 year old know to observe that a Square Dance should be done in a square not a circle? Just scary... I did manage to snap a few photos while taking a breather from holding Arden back from going to see her brother. Roger did his performance at school and said they did not make one mistake. Go Roger!!

Ben found out on Tuesday that his exchange student he is teamed up with for the England Exchange student program and was able to email him. It was pretty cool. Ben sent him about how excited he is to see England and meet him and his student wrote Ben back and said "I can't wait to visit America and do you have any pets?"
Well that can mean 1 of 2 things in my book:
1. He is afraid of pets
2. He loves pets
So what does Ben do??? He emails him back and says "Yes I do have pets, 2 dogs and they bite too! Ha ha I am just kidding do you have any pets?" (He is so much like his dad always joking around) So today I guess we will hear back today and maybe we will know which one of the 2 it is.
Aaron, I guess I need to talk about A-man to since I have spoke of everyone else. Aaron has had a great week too. He has been doing what A-man loves doing "playing video games" He was a little ticked off when I had to c/a our lunch date but being I was sick he gave me a little slack so tomorrow I will be having lunch with him to make it up.

Well Another busy weekend planned but with lots of celebration!!! Let's just hope everyone else stays well! Until Next time!!

Busy Saturday!

Today we all went in every direction... Daddio had to work, Arden and I had a Baby Shower, Ben started his "job" today and the boys went to my dads. Swhhh!! Very Busy... My sister in-law had her baby shower today and it was a great time. Denise got lots of great baby gear and lots of clothes. Arden enjoyed helping open all the gifts and spending time with her cousins.

Ben started a "job" today helping Coo Coo at her hair salon by sweeping hair and cleaning up after the stylist on Saturdays. He jumped at this opportunity as it will help him earn some spending $$ for his trip to England. When he got home today he was POOPED!! I think it didn't help that he is coming down with a cold so he showered and was off to bed. Poor Ben!

Roger and Aaron went to hang out with PawPaw today while the girls went to the shower. When I picked them up they were DIRTY!!!! They played outside all day long. The weather was just beautiful, so being outdoors was no question for them. It also helps that PawPaw has a cool golf cart they get to drive around the yard. When my dad came out he gave me one of those looks like "what am I gonna do with these boys" they had gotten a little crazy with the golf cart and tore up some of his back lawn. Opps!!! Now before you all get a mental picture in your head let me explain, my dad has maybe a 10x10 area of grass so messing up that 10x10 space of the ONLY GRASS he had was pretty BIG!!! Sorry Paw Paw!! Thank goodness he is a good sport about stuff like this and he just shakes his head and shrugs it off. Good old PawPaw, we love you and the boys just love hanging out with PawPaw!!

Roger, Named After My Dad (PawPaw)

But what is so funny we should have waited to name Aaron after my dad

because he is the one who looks just like him...

We had a wonderful end to our week by celebrating Thursday night with a Gotcha Day Party! It was a G Girl Special, last minute throw together party but was a huge success! (my maiden name is G and when ever the brother in laws talk about our crazy habits it is always "the G girl Way") I made homemade pizza & salad and then to finish off the night I made Arden a Gotcha cake. She requested Purple flowers, "just like Dora, Mom" so she got purple flowers... It was funny when it was time to say our blessing before we ate we asked Arden which blessing she wanted to say "God is Great" or "God our Father" (yes she runs the roost around here) and she said she wanted the "Gotcha Day Prayer" and we all just went with it...
Gotcha Day, Gotcha Day,
Gotcha Day, Gotcha Day
Thank you Gotcha Day, Gotcha Day...
and then Daddio finished up with one of his prayers. It was so funny. All day the boys have been singing this to her and she just tied in right into a prayer and then at cake time guess what we sang? Yep Gotcha Day again!
Most of all she knew this was a special day for her and my job was done!!!
We are just so Thankful!

Happy Gotcha Day!!!

Two years ago today God placed in our arms the sweetest gift, our daughter Arden! It seems like yesterday we were in China piling on a bus with 13 other families going to meet our daughters who had been growing in our hearts for 25 months. Words cannot explain the emotion when they placed her in our arms. This little one may have not grown in my womb but God certainly placed her in our hearts. She is our daughter! As I visit that emotional day in my mind it brings tears to my eyes, tears of joy! We are so blessed that God picked us to be her Forever Family! There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank God for this wonderful Gift! She has brought true Joy to all of our lives! It never seems to amaze me how big our God is and how he picked Arden from the other side of the world to be our daughter. I look forward to seeing her life unfold and pray she will follow God's plan for her precious life!

Just Think...
You're not here by chance but by God's choosing. His hand formed you, and made you the person you are. He compares you to no one else- you are ONE OF A KIND. You lack nothing that HIS GRACE can't give you. He has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill HIS SPECIAL PURPOSE for this generation.
